Holiday Weekends at Portland Japanese Garden

For three weekends starting the day after Thanksgiving, the Japanese Garden in Washington Park dresses for the season with traditional winter decorations. Visitors can shop Japanese and Japanese-inspired gifts, have them wrapped in furoshiki cloth, and leave with a take-home origami ornament. Seasonal teas and treats are on at the Umami Café, and garden tours are free with admission. Late-autumn maples and moss make the walk itself worth the trip, and it's all included with regular admission.
