This policy explains what information PNW Acquainted (“we,” “us”) collects at pnwacquainted.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it simple: we collect only what we need, we don’t sell your information, and you can ask us to delete it.
Information you give us
- Get Featured submissions: your name, email, optional phone number, business details, your answers and the photos you upload. Your answers and photos may be published as your feature after we check with you; your email and phone stay private.
- Nominations: the details you share about the person you’re nominating, plus your name and email so we can follow up.
- Suggested initiatives and contact messages: what you send us, plus your name and email so we can reply.
- Newsletter sign-ups: if you join our list, your name and email, used only to send you updates. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe.
We use this information to review submissions, reply to you, and publish the content you’ve asked us to publish. We don’t sell or rent it.
Spam protection
To keep spam out, form submissions are checked by Akismet, a service from Automattic. When you submit a form, your name, email, message, IP address and browser details may be sent to Akismet for this check. See Automattic’s privacy policy.
Analytics and advertising
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site, such as which pages are popular. It uses cookies and collects information like your device, browser, approximate location and the pages you visit. If we show ads through Google AdSense, Google may use cookies to serve and measure them. Other services that load on our pages
- Fonts: some fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address.
- Maps: the map on our Events page loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap’s servers, which receive your IP address. We look up venue addresses with OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim service; that doesn’t involve any of your information.
- Embedded content: videos, posts or maps embedded from other sites (like YouTube or Instagram) behave as if you visited those sites and may set their own cookies.
Cookies
Besides analytics and advertising cookies, the site uses a few functional cookies, for example to remember your light or dark mode preference or, if you have an account, to keep you signed in. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, though some preferences won’t be remembered.
How long we keep information
We keep submissions and messages as long as we need them to review, publish or reply, and then delete them on request. Published features stay up unless you ask us to change or remove them.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or ask us to take down your feature, at any time. Contact us or email hello@pnwacquainted.com and we’ll respond promptly.
Children
PNW Acquainted is for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
