SCORE Portland’s volunteer mentors give small business owners free advice across Northwest Oregon and, since the Southwest Washington chapter merged in on October 1, 2025, Vancouver and Southwest Washington too. Mentors are matched with owners based on their own experience and meet face to face, online or by phone; the chapter also needs volunteers for marketing, tech, finance and fundraising.
You’ll need solid business experience, good communication and computer skills, and SCORE’s mentor training. Apply through SCORE’s national volunteer page and the local chapter follows up with an interview. Running a business yourself? The chapter’s free Meet-a-Mentor sessions are a low-key way to start.
