Seattle has a reputation for being polite but hard to get to know, and that goes double for business. The fix is showing up to the same room more than once. Neighborhood chambers, membership groups and maker networks all run gatherings on a steady rhythm, and the second or third visit is when people start saving you a seat.

Every group below has a recurring schedule we confirmed on its own site, from monthly coffees to quarterly happy hours. Some events are members-only, so we note when that’s the case. If you’re job hunting rather than building a business, start with our job fairs and career help guide.

Updated November 2026

Seattle Metro Chamber of Commerce

The city’s big-tent business organization runs networking by format, so you can pick the room that suits you. Toast of Seattle is a morning event with three timed rounds of introductions, Business After Hours is an evening reception at venues around the region, and Power Hour is small-group speed networking for new members, small business owners and minority business owners, with Chamber leaders in the room.

When
Toast of Seattle every other month, in the morning; Power Hour quarterly; Business After Hours throughout the year.
Cost
Membership starts at $500. Some events, like the Morning Member Meetup, are members-only.

GSBA

Founded in 1981, GSBA calls itself the largest LGBTQ+ and allied business association in North America, and it connects small businesses, nonprofits and corporations across Washington. The easiest way in is Coffee Talk, an informal meetup hosted by GSBA’s membership team at a different Capitol Hill coffee shop each month. Its Hill Talk gatherings on Capitol Hill are free and open to all.

When
Coffee Talk on the third Thursday of every month; other mixers through the year.
Who it’s for
LGBTQ+ and allied business owners, nonprofit staff and professionals.

West Seattle Chamber of Commerce

The peninsula’s chamber keeps a dependable monthly rhythm with two formats: an evening Business After Hours hosted by a member business, and a midday luncheon built around a practical talk. It’s a good way to meet the owners behind the shops and services you already use in West Seattle.

When
Business After Hours monthly, on a weekday evening; a luncheon monthly, at midday.
Who it’s for
West Seattle business owners and anyone who works with them. Prices aren’t posted, so check when you register.

Queen Anne Chamber of Commerce

Membership is open to any business in the Queen Anne neighborhood, and the chamber runs monthly networking events alongside annual neighborhood events like its fall wine walk. For a small business on the hill, it’s the most direct way to meet your neighbors in business.

When
Monthly networking events, plus annual special events.
Who it’s for
Queen Anne business owners and staff.

Rotary Club of Seattle

Founded in 1909 as the fourth Rotary club in the world, Seattle Rotary mixes networking with service and mentoring. Lunch meetings bring in local leaders as speakers, and a monthly coffee gives members a more casual way to connect. It suits people who want long-term relationships built through shared projects rather than quick card swaps.

When
First and third Wednesdays at 12:30 p.m., in person downtown or on Zoom; Member Coffee Connections monthly.
Who it’s for
Members and their invited guests. Prospective members can attend a meeting with advance notice through the club.

Good Business Network of Washington

The nonprofit network behind Seattle Made and NW Sewn brings together local manufacturers, makers and small businesses. Its happy hours are open to members and to anyone curious about joining, with drinks, bites and a rundown of how membership works and what’s planned for the year ahead. In September, Seattle Made Week adds open houses and events around the city.

When
Member and prospective-member happy hours each quarter; Seattle Made Week in September.
Cost
The happy hours are free, with an optional donation to a fund that waives fees for entrepreneurs facing financial barriers. Seattle Made membership is free for businesses that meet its criteria.

Tabor 100

Tabor 100 is an association of entrepreneurs and business advocates working toward economic power, educational excellence and social equity for African Americans and the wider community, with more than 550 members. Alongside membership meetings, it runs a steady calendar of practical workshops on certification, contracting, capital and financial operations, and a business development center with walk-in hours.

When
Several workshops a month, plus membership meetings.
Who it’s for
Black entrepreneurs and other small business owners. Many workshops focus on certification and public contracting.

SCORE Washington State

SCORE pairs small business owners with volunteer mentors, free, and runs workshops on the nuts and bolts of starting and growing a business. The Washington State chapter serves the Seattle, Tacoma and Everett area. The workshops double as a low-pressure way to meet other owners at the same stage as you.

When
Workshops throughout the month; mentoring by appointment.
Cost
Mentoring is free.

Washington Technology Industry Association

The state’s tech trade association, known as WTIA, hosts member happy hours, Tech@Night after-hours conversations, and Tech in Focus panels on the technologies reshaping the industry. Its community calendar also collects Seattle tech meetups from partner groups, which makes it a useful single place to look. Every year it runs Seattle AI Week, a full week of community events.

When
Tech in Focus quarterly; member happy hours and community events through the year; Seattle AI Week annually.
Who it’s for
Founders, engineers and anyone working in or around Seattle tech. Some events are members-only.

Seattle Startup and Tech Mixer

This Meetup group of more than 2,000 members holds evening mixers for founders, developers and tech workers, recently at Tapster in South Lake Union. Turnout swings from a handful of people to more than a hundred, so check the RSVP count before you go.

When
Weeknight evenings, roughly monthly, 6 to 9 p.m.
Cost
Paid entry, with a cash bar; food and drinks aren’t included.
