Carkeek Park Salmon Celebration

21 November 2026

From late October into early December, chum salmon, and a few coho, push up Piper's Creek in Carkeek Park to spawn, right inside city limits. The annual celebration on the Saturday before Thanksgiving is the best day to see them, with naturalists along the creek, family activities and Spanish translators on site. Parking at the park is very limited, so use the free shuttle from behind the QFC on Holman Road or Viewlands Elementary, or walk in along the Piper's Creek Trail. Nearby, EarthCorps runs a Trees for Salmon art event from 11 to 2.
