Habitat for Humanity Portland Region builds homes with volunteer crews on sites in Gresham, Southwest Portland and Lake Oswego. Construction shifts run Wednesday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and you stay the full day; no construction experience is needed. Builders must be 16 or older, and 16- and 17-year-olds need a signed parent waiver.
The four ReStores, in Portland, Beaverton, Gresham and Tigard, have shifts every day of the week: helping customers, processing donations, repairing items and sorting metal for recycling. ReStore volunteers can start at 14 with an adult chaperone. Group days, Community Days and a young professionals’ Ambassador Council round out the options.
