How did you get started on your Entrepreneur Journey in Vancouver Washington ?
In 2008 I was in theological school and learning how to take better care of my mind, body, and soul. Through my studies and life experiences I came to realize that I wasnt alone in my quest to be my most authentic feminine self. I turned my focus toward helping other feminas who were on a similary journey reconnect to their higher self and devine feminine energy.
Was this business the first business you’ve started? If not, what was your first business?
What started out as a skincare company, has undergone many changes over the years as I grew and developed a better knowing of what my purpose is.
What has been your biggest takeaway thus far on your entrepreneur journey?
That the best business ideas are the ones you’re most passionate about.
How do you motivate yourself to keep going and growing, when you feel like giving up?
I know that I have a purpose to fulfill. And that no matter how difficult things may seem, I am being guided every step of the way. I have been so fortunate to have been gifted with a family that has watched my passions and purpose turn into something I am able to do to earn a living, and now my granddaughters operate businesses of their own. I am happy that I am able to be an example in entrepreneurship for them.
What has been your biggest lesson on your entrepreneur journey?
Don’t pay attention to what others are doing. That will trip you up. Make you doubt yourself. Always remember that there is only one me, doing what I do the way I do it. No matter how similar my businesses may be to another, only I can provide the services and products I do with the energy I put into it.
If you could share one truth with your fellow business owners and entrepreneurs, what would it be?
Be patient with yourself. Nothing will ever be perfect, so just give it your all, and it will work out just the way it is supposed to.
What exciting things are coming up in your business?
We are super excited for our first full season at the Vancouver Farmers Market
What sets your business apart from others like yours?
We pay attention and we listen. Not every product is for everybody, and not every person will have the same problem. So we listen. It is our mission to honor each and every individual that speaks to us, ask us questions, or just finds what they want and move on. We want our business to reflect our values and our purpose. So we craft and curate our items based on not just our own experiences, but what our customers show and tell us that they need.
What do you value the most about your local community?
For the most part the vendors I have met are very friendly and kind, super talented people.
Do you or would you like to support other entrepreneurs? If so, how?
I do my best to support our local growing businesses by purchasing their products as well as sharing their businesses on social media.
What’s the most significant way a local business can impact their community and why is it important?
Sustainability. We have to be mindful of what we take out of Mother Earth as well as what we take out of Her. Running a business doesn’t grant us the right to abuse the planet. In fact, I think as business owners we have an even bigger responsibility to do better and set an example.
What do you love most about your community?
The diverse ethnicities and cultures of the people.
When you aren’t working, what do you enjoy doing?
I spend a lot of time researching and figuring out how I can be of better service to myself, my family, my community, and my customers. Whatever down time I have is spent meditating, journaling, chanting, practicing yoga, and venerating my ancestors. I really enjoy spending time wirh my family. They are my priority after self-care.
Where would you escape to for a day trip on your day off?
To my bedroom. I would spend the day in candlelight with incense burning just being still.
If you had family or friends visiting, where would be the top 3 places you’d take them for food?
Karam Lebanese Restaurant, Doe Donuts, The Sudra, and Rabbits Cafe.
When friends or family visit, what is on the itinerary for sight seeing or activities?
The Columbia River Gorge, Seattle’s Pike Place Market, and OMSI
