What services or products does your business, Warren Marshall Photography offer?
Elopement, engagement, and portrait photography.
How did you get started on your Entrepreneur Journey in Snohomish Washington?
I started getting requests for various photography gigs early on and that momentum really snowballed as my skills grew and I decided to make a go of photography as a profession.
Was this business as an elopement photographer, the first business you’ve started? If not, what was your first business?
It was indeed my first.
What has been your biggest takeaway thus far on your entrepreneurial journey as an elopement photographer?
There’s been so many that it’s hard to identify one as a single biggest takeaway. I would say among the biggest though would be to always maintain the mindset of a student. Always be looking for and embracing opportunities to grow, improve, and impliment new ideas.
How do you motivate yourself to keep going and growing, when you feel like giving up?
I try to remind myself that having highs and lows is natural, whether in business or in life, and that neither will last forever. You’ve made it through lows in the past and you can now as well. The highs always outweigh the lows, but there’s also a lot you can learn in a season of feeling down.
What has been your biggest lesson on your entrepreneur journey?
I go back to always looking for places to improve and never cease learning.
If you could share one truth with your fellow business owners and entrepreneurs, what would it be?
That while being business savy and learning the technical skills of your trade is vital, surrounding yourself with like minded people who all make each other better is perhaps the biggest thing you can do for yourself.
What exciting things are coming up in your business?
I’m excited to dive more into YouTube and share more behind the scenes content and ideas outside my usual currated content you may find on Instagram or my website.
What sets your business apart from others like yours?
I think aside from my photography, who I am is a person. I believe the experiences I’ve had and my general love for people help my clients feel comfortable around me and feel genuine connection.
What do you value the most about your local community?
I enjoy how people are generally so supportive and encouraging.
Do you or would you like to support other entrepreneurs? If so, how?
Absolutely! I’ve received a lot of help along my journey and try to pass that on whenever possible. I’m always happy to answer questions if anyone cares to reach out.
What’s the most significant way a local business can impact their community and why is it important?
I think the heart behind what you do is always something to stay tethered to. Put others first and always think about what you can do for individuals and your community rather than what they can do for you.
What do you love most about your community?
The support and encouragement of like minded people with similar creative pursuits and appetite for business.
When you aren’t working, what do you enjoy doing?
Enjoying time with friends and family, trail running or hiking, reading, cooking, drawing, wood carving, leather crafting, and traveling.
Where would you escape to for a day trip on your day off?
Somewhere in the mountains.
If you had family or friends visiting, where would be the top 3 places you’d take them for food?
5 Bistro for pizza, Scuttlebutt for fish and chips, and Cactus for Mexican food.
When friends or family visit, what is on the itinerary for sight seeing or activities?
A drive somewhere in the North Cascades.
