My biggest takeaway was that this was the right path for me. Being my own boss means I work a lot more, but I can also control my own destiny.
How do you motivate yourself to keep going and growing, when you feel like giving up?
I have been an entrepreneur for more than 20 years and if I ever get discouraged, I always remember that each year is different but to stay the course. I also hear the words from my grandfather who was a very successful entrepreneur. “Know your business, work hard and be honest. ”
What has been your biggest lesson on your entrepreneur journey?
The biggest lesson is how to run a successful business.

I believe giving back to the community is an important part of owning a business so I donate up to 25% of my income to local and national charities and organizations that support women and children.
When you aren’t working, what do you enjoy doing?
I am a mother and I love that role. I am constantly thinking of fun things for us to do. I also love exercising and lifting weights because I believe physical strength helps with our emotional and mental strength.
Where would you escape to for a day trip on your day off?
I would go for a long hike in the mountains.
If you had family or friends visiting, where would be the top 3 places you’d take them for food?
I would take them for Mexican food at the Taco bus on Rainier, my favorite Vietnamese restaurant at Billiards Huang and at Off Alley in Columbia City for a quiet dinner for two.
When friends or family visit, what is on the itinerary for sight seeing or activities?
I love taking them to Vashon Island to see the beach, to my favorite farm stands, and to grab a coffee from the bakery.
