Energy healing is a holistic approach to wellness that involves channeling and balancing the energy within and around the body to promote healing and overall well-being. It is based on the belief that the body has its own natural healing abilities, and that imbalances in the energy system can lead to physical, emotional, and spiritual issues. Patricia Montoya of Titipoza focuses on using her gifts to help those living with anticipatory grief, working through past trauma, or healing from the death of a loved one.
What Energy Healing services or products does your business offer?
I offer Energy Healing Services and Spiritual Guidance for those experiencing Anticipatory Grief, Trauma, or Recovering from Grief. As an Energy Healer, Psychic Medium, and Death Doula, I have been focused on using my gifts to help those living with anticipatory grief, working through past trauma, or healing from the death of a loved one.
How did you get started on your Entrepreneur Journey in Portland, Oregon offering Energy Healing?
I started when I lost a loved one for the second time in my life. Seeing all the gaps I had in my anticipatory grief process, I decided to start offering services to help other people work through their grief and trauma.
Was this business the first business you’ve started? If not, what was your first business?
This is my second business. My first business was offering digital marketing consulting services.
What has been your biggest takeaway thus far on your entrepreneur journey?
It is not worth doing this alone. Delegate, outsource, and ask for help. This is not a straight line, and we all work very differently. Stop seeing everyone as a competition.
How do you motivate yourself to keep going and growing, when you feel like giving up?
I started my business with a clear goal and mission. That goal and mission haven’t changed. I remind myself of my mission every day, which keeps me going.
What has been your biggest lesson on your entrepreneur journey with Energy Healing?
Not everyone will support you, and that is okay. Not everyone will understand what you do, but not everyone is supposed to be your customer. Understanding that people might project their fears or worries on you helps me know where some of their comments come from. Focus on delivering quality to who your clients are and forget about everyone else opinion.
If you could share one truth with your fellow business owners and entrepreneurs, what would it be?
It is okay to change your mind. It is okay to ask for what you are worth. Never undersell your skills or knowledge.
What exciting things are coming up in your Energy Healing business?
Working on a guidebook to help anyone navigate anticipatory grief.
What sets your business apart from Energy Healing businesses like yours?
I have experienced many personal losses and suffer from PTSD. I think going through what my clients have gone through provides an intimate experience that not many other people can express.
What do you value the most about your local community?
That we all look to support each other in any way we can.
Do you or would you like to support other entrepreneurs? If so, how?
Yes, I am thinking/working on creating a mastermind group for fellow entrepreneurs to talk about how we can grow our business.
What’s the most significant way a local business can impact their community and why is it important?
As local businesses are on the ground, they can adapt to what the community is going through and support with this intimate knowledge.
What do you love most about your community?
The diversity of backgrounds. I am from Colombia and love meeting people from all walks of life.
When you aren’t working and offering Energy Healing, what do you enjoy doing?
I enjoy traveling, especially to the beach. Water is my happy place.
Where would you escape to for a day trip on your day off?
Definitely the beach. I love Astoria; it has magical energy.
If you had family or friends visiting, where would be the top 3 places you’d take them for food?
We love Fuego, Mezcaluna Mexican Restaurant and Tusk.
When friends or family visit, what is on the itinerary for sight seeing or activities?
Trillium lake is one of my favorite spots, seeing the Columbia river and spending the day trying the various wineries.
