SUMMARY:The Lights of Christmas at Warm Beach Camp
DESCRIPTION:For its 30th season\, the Northwest's big Christmas light festival at Warm Beach Camp\, north of Marysville near Stanwood\, becomes mainly a walking event. Guests stroll at their own pace past more than a million lights\, with a Christmas market\, food\, costumed characters\, mini-golf\, a light maze and train rides along the way. It runs on select nights only\, and every ticket must be bought online ahead with limited entries per hour. Three Thursdays are kept as drive-thru nights for anyone who'd rather stay warm in the car\, though those skip the activity stops.

SUMMARY:Great Figgy Pudding Caroling Competition
DESCRIPTION:For two hours on a Friday night\, caroling groups fan out across a ten-block radius of downtown and sing in front of shops\, restaurants and hotels\, while passersby vote for their favorites. The top three groups then return to Pioneer Courthouse Square for a final carol-off. It's the 12th year of Portland's version\, free to watch\, and a fun way to wander downtown in December with a hot drink in hand. Choirs\, office teams and ugly-sweater crews can register to compete.

The final sailing's follow boats gather around the ship off the old gasworks towers while a choir sings to the crowd on the hill\, and there's a public lighting and bonfire along the shore. The performance is scheduled for 9:10 to 9:30 p.m.\, so it's a late one; earlier that evening the same sailing stops at Fritz Hedges Waterway Park in Portage Bay. Bring a headlamp for the walk back to the car.
